History

The Boscarelli company is a family business owned by the Corradi family which began by dividing itself between Genoa and Montepulciano, and which today has been in the wine sector for more than 50 years now. Today the family is permanently resident in Cervognano di Montepulciano, in love with the area and the products that the land allows to obtain. Among the leading figures in the company we include Egidio Corradi, the founder of Boscarelli, his daughter Paola De Ferrari Corradi, a woman of temperament who has been running the company since the 1960s together with her husband Ippolito, who tragically died in a road accident in 1983. Today this inheritance was taken up by his sons Luca, present in the company since 1988 and Nicolò, the second son, who moved to the company in 1997.

Production method

The grapes come from vineyards that are at least 10 years old. The grapes are harvested manually and transported to the cellar, where they are destemmed and pressed. Subsequently the grapes are placed in stainless steel containers where they start a spontaneous fermentation thanks to indigenous yeasts; during this process the wine undergoes frequent punching down. The wine obtained is aged in Allier and Slavonian oak barrels ranging in size from 5 to 35 hl for 18-24 months, where it also carries out the malolactic fermentation. After a few months in the bottle, the wine is finally released on the market.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby ​​red color with garnet reflections. On the nose notes of fruit such as ripe plum, black cherry and wild berry jam, with mineral and spice notes of black pepper, cloves, vanilla and tobacco. The bouquet is really intense and fine. On the palate it is soft, captivating, fine and of medium structure; the striking feature is more the elegance of the end sip given by very fine tannins and very balanced and pleasant acidity, which enhances the wine. The persistence is long and pleasantly spicy.

Possible combinations

Nobile di Montepulciano by Boscarelli is a red wine characterized by an extraordinary elegance and finesse. For this reason we recommend it as a meditation wine to be drunk for pure pleasure and to be discovered in all its nuances. In combination it goes well with not too heavy but tasty meat or game dishes or with delicate and tasty cheeses, even quite seasoned.
