History
Umani Ronchi is one of Central Italy’s leading wineries, renowned for promoting the native grape varieties of Marche and Abruzzo. Plenio comes from vineyards located between 250 and 350 metres above sea level near Cupramontana, one of the historic grand cru areas for Verdicchio. Its name derives from the Latin Plenum, expressing the fullness, richness and complexity that define this iconic wine.

100% Verdicchio.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from late September to early October. After gentle pressing and cold static settling, approximately 60% of the must ferments in 50-hectolitre oak casks, with a small portion in tonneaux, while the remaining 40% ferments in concrete tanks at controlled temperatures of 16–18°C. The wine ages on its lees for around 12 months before blending and spends at least six additional months in bottle prior to release.

Tasting notes
Deep straw yellow with golden highlights. The bouquet reveals ripe fruit, honey, bitter almond, aromatic herbs and delicate balsamic notes, together with the distinctive hint of anise typical of Verdicchio. On the palate it is rich and velvety, combining generous body with vibrant freshness and pronounced salinity. The finish is exceptionally long, recalling apple, yellow plum and almond.
Food pairings
An excellent match for stuffed pasta, roast white meats, grilled or roasted fish, shellfish and refined Mediterranean cuisine. Its structure also pairs beautifully with truffle dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
