History
Founded in 2018 by four friends passionate about wine, Formiche focuses on expressing the true character of Ansonica through sustainable farming and minimal intervention. The vineyards are located near the sea on the Argentario coast and are worked entirely by hand. Total annual production is around 5,000 bottles, making every release highly sought after among natural and artisanal wine enthusiasts. The Integrale is the winery’s most personal and distinctive interpretation of the grape.

The grapes are whole-cluster pressed and fermentation is started with a natural pied de cuve. Fermentation takes place in both stainless steel and used oak barrels. The wine ages on fine lees and is bottled without fining and with only light filtration, preserving purity and authenticity.

Tasting notes
Deep golden yellow in colour. The bouquet reveals ripe apricot, citrus peel, Mediterranean herbs and coastal scrub aromas. On the palate it is textured and vibrant, with pronounced maritime salinity, excellent tension and a long mineral finish. A wine that combines richness and freshness with remarkable natural balance.
Food pairings
Excellent with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, tuna tartare, Mediterranean cuisine, bottarga and seafood pasta dishes. Its structure also allows it to pair beautifully with more elaborate fish recipes and delicate white meats.
