History
Based in Poinchy near Chablis, Domaine Isabelle et Denis Pommier was established in 1990 and has been certified organic since 2014. The Grain de Survie (“Grain of Survival”) label was created after severe frost destroyed much of the estate’s harvest, allowing the winery to continue its activity through carefully sourced fruit from fellow growers. The quality of the wine ensured that the project became a lasting part of the domaine’s portfolio.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
Vinification
The grapes come from south-facing vineyards near Champvallon and are harvested by hand from organically farmed vines. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by 15 months of ageing in neutral oak barrels, preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit while adding texture and complexity.

13.5%.
Tasting notes
Bright ruby red in colour. The nose reveals aromas of cherry, blackberry, strawberry and fresh red berries, complemented by subtle spice, tobacco and delicate forest floor notes. The palate is fresh, well-balanced and beautifully structured, with silky tannins, precise fruit and a long, elegant finish.
Food pairings
A perfect companion to charcuterie, beef tartare, duck breast, grilled red meats, roast beef, veal, mushroom dishes and medium-aged cheeses. Its freshness and elegance also make it an excellent match for classic French cuisine and poultry dishes.
