History
Monte Bernardi is a historic winery in Panzano in Chianti, managed with an organic philosophy strongly focused on terroir expression and natural fermentations. Sangió comes from vineyards planted between 400 and 550 metres above sea level on galestro and alberese soils, ideal conditions for wines with freshness, tension and aromatic depth. The winery follows a low-intervention philosophy with native yeast fermentations, minimal sulphur use and no filtration to preserve authenticity and energy.
Grape variety
Sangiovese 100%
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and concrete tanks. The wine is unfiltered and produced with minimal intervention to preserve varietal purity and terroir identity. Vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically with low yields and strong attention to soil vitality.

Tasting notes
Bright ruby red. Aromas of fresh cherry, red berries, violet, aromatic herbs and subtle spice emerge on the nose. On the palate it is fresh, agile and savoury with fine tannins, lively acidity and a dry persistent finish recalling crunchy fruit and mineral nuances.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with Tuscan cured meats, ragù pasta, Florentine steak, light roasts, gourmet pizza, ribollita soup and semi-aged cheeses. Also excellent served slightly cool with Mediterranean cuisine and rustic Tuscan dishes.
