History
Lagrein is one of Alto Adige’s historic native red grapes, traditionally cultivated around Bolzano-Gries on warm gravelly soils that enhance depth and aromatic richness. Cantina Valle Isarco interprets the grape with a fresher and more elegant style, focusing on precision, drinkability and terroir expression while maintaining the grape’s characteristic intensity.

Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel with temperature-controlled maceration to preserve fruit purity and varietal expression. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for about 6 months in stainless steel and/or large oak casks to maintain balance between softness, freshness and structure.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Aromas of violet, ripe forest berries, plum and subtle spice and cocoa notes emerge on the nose. On the palate it is full and harmonious with soft tannins, vibrant mountain freshness and a long, savoury finish.
Food pairings
Pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, roasts, game, South Tyrolean speck, savoury dumplings, hearty pasta dishes and aged cheeses. Also excellent with alpine cuisine and rustic flavourful dishes.
